Every craft has rules and guidelines.

Guidelines serve as an important tool of navigation. It assists those who are plying unfamiliar terrain to find their way and not get lost.

Writing is not without guidelines and rules.

Obeying these guidelines gives you greater chance of becoming successful. But I think new writers follow too many guidelines and freeze out an essentially more important aspect — creativity.

It is through creativity that your uniqueness as a writer finds expression.

It is through creativity that you are able to birth newness and create new and better ways to practice your craft.

Never shut out your creativity.

“In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.” — Anonymous

Practice all the guidelines and follow all the rules, but never shut out your creativity.

There will be many writers, but there will always only be one YOU.

Make the most of who you are and your message.

Do not consume so much rules and guidelines that you lose your essence and creativity.

Balance is key.
