Words have phenomenal power.

Your life is a testament to the quality of words you heed. Words shape our beliefs, inform our decisions, drive our behaviour, and ultimately create our world.

We are all products of the words we have received (as education) from childhood up until this point in our lives. The contrast in the quality of our lives, is a testament to the contrast that exists in the quality of words that we have received, individually, over time.

Words truly do have phenomenal power, so we ought to be mindful and intentional of the kind of words we heed (read or listen to).

Your Words Are Either Givers or Takers

Every word you release gives something or takes something.
Every article or speech, has the potential to give something to its recipient or take away something.

Your words would either give hope (taking away hopelessness) or take hope (giving hopelessness). Give joy or take joy. Give courage or take courage.

Remember your words can plant gardens or burn whole forests down — Gemma Troy

Your Life Is a Product of The Quality of Words You Heed

Your life is largely a product of the quality of words you heed. Hence, you are a testament to the kind of words you read or hear consistently.

If you continue to listen to or read toxic contents consistently, you would invariably begin to exude sheer toxicicity.
This is true for every other quality, and life generally.
You have to hearken consistently to words that are consistent with the kind of person you want to become.

Everything Is Made Up of Words

The raw material of all of creation is words.
Words make up the entire fabric of existence as we know it. Anything and everything in its material or immaterial form is at its atomic level merely a concoction of words.
Think about it. Every decision, action, idea, innovation, and invention begin as words.
Words exist first as thoughts, conceived in the depths of the soul.
These thoughts are transformed into ideas.
Ideas get transformed into convictions and tangible actions giving rise to philosophies and dogmas, innovations and inventions which order culture, belief systems, and development.

Words Are Messengers

Words are messengers on a mission. When you send them out, they go on a mission defined by you. But in the end, they return to you.

You are the last recipient of your words.

When you get mad at your friend and say hurtful things to them, you have sent words out on a mission to hurt them.
However, these words invariably return to you with the same results prosecuted on your friend.
This is why when you say hurtful things, you inadvertently hurt yourself.

Your words go on a mission that terminate, not with your recipient(s), but with you.

In Conclusion

You should evaluate the quality of words you are exposed to consistently — among peers, on social media, at your workplace, your playlist etc., and make intentional efforts to ensure you are consistently fixed on words that make you better.

Happy New Year!
