Always optimize your writing for speed.

The internet appreciates fast-paced writing above overly descriptive, detail-oriented writing.

The perfect way to rope your readers in is to write in a way that your readers feel like they are sliding down a slippery slide. No one gets off a slide midway. They wait until they are at the end, which happens faster than they anticipate.

A writing optimized for speed instantly grabs the reader’s attention. And before the reader realizes it, you have walked them through your content garden.

Getting and keeping readers attention on the internet is a daunting task. But by maintaining a fast rate of revelation, you will be able to lure readers in, one sentence at a time.

Your rate of revelation is the rate at which you reveal new information to the reader.

If the read time for your article is 4-minutes, readers should feel like they spent way less than the estimated time when they get to the end of your article.

After reading your article, your reader should feel like they went on a seemingly short journey with so many events crammed into a short time gap.

How to optimize your writing for speed in 3 simple steps:

• Go straight to the point

• Trim out unnecessary words

  • Avoid using long sentences (Keep sentences short and crisp. Aim for less than 14 and never more than 20 words per sentence.)

Keep writing!
